:thumb It looks great. :thumb

I've done a few garage and barn paint jobs; so I am well aware of the challenges dirt presents.

Normally, I paint motorcycles.. but my car was over do.. the car was incased in plastic sheeting..there is about 7 - 10 nibs in the paint, I can Live with that. . I am extremely impressed with the paint job considering, this was not in a booth. ..here's is a couple of pics of my work. Real nice work and even more so as you don't have a booth.

I used to paint my own motorcycles and my first Corvette was a "marriage" of two cars. ;) My first "compressor" was tankless and bled a drop of water at the most inopportune times. So, it was wet sand time again and again. As you know a motorcycle glass tank is a no nibs allowed zone. ;)

I actually found my '60 years later as it was a few shades off and by knowing where a couple of imperfections where located. The owners bought dinner; probably out of fear the history of their pride and joy would wander away. ;LOL

I hear yea... I love painting been doing it since 1990. Where. I did my motorcycle painting was in a different location, the nibs are so small you need to look real close to find them.. had I changed the sheeting befOre pAinting, it would of made the difference. ..I painted my vette about 8 years ago, it was viper red. . Real Nice color, but I Never was a fan of solid colors, my new paint has metallic and pearl in it. .

I've done a pearl paint job a couple of times.
What I did was tint the clear with the base color; then on the final coats of clear, tint them with pearl. Supposedly tinting the clear with color adds depth and prevents the base color from sun fade.

I'm not sure what the formulation is for Viper red; it used to be Ferrari and Porsche reds could make other red cars look orangish. A bud owns one of those fancy mixing systems

Another easy way to add $$ is moulding tanks and frames. With tanks it is easy and hides the welds. :D Frames aren't easy.

I haven't done any painting for a long time. ;) Had a shop for 20 years or so; it just got to be too much.

Took it out off the garage for pics.

Looking great and I see the beauty ready for a parade. ;) I built a LT-1 based 383 for my 66. I really liked that engine; how do you like yours?
We have emissions laws here, :mad so this time it is a blower. Whoosh, and blur then :w

Once my daughter asked what happened to my 1969; my answer was go look in the mirror. (Warning: do not make the same mistake or you'll regret it. ;))

Thanks,
I only have 500+ miles on the motor, I had Golens Performance engines in New Hampshire. Build the. Motor, but I was going to go blower, but I had already. Bought AFR 195cc HEADS,
Shop owner said he would estimate 460-480 horse on the conservative side..I have had the car nearly 30 years, its it gets passed down to my son, it is a numbers matching car, the L-82 motor sits in my basement.. I wasn't going to do any mods to that..

Your skill earned the compliments. :thumb I do automotive design; so if it fits it fits and if it doesn't fit it doesn't.

To be blunt, emissions is the only reason I did what I did instead of what you did. :)
She acts stock, highway MPG is 30 plus. A first, I thought the DIC was baloney, so I did a few "hand calculated" and it is within a decimal point. It must be GM's one and only.

I enjoy building cars or motorcycles. All day I sit on my buns with designs and never do.

Whoosh, and blur. :D

Stock except for the blower and intercooler. According to the dyno shop, a stock LS1 makes 500-525 RWHP at 11.0-11.2 and she pulled a lot more at the tires at 11.7. Add a boost-a-pump to the Lingenfelter in tank and she'd hit 580-600. Some engines just take to it. From a roll she ran away from a 11.2 car. As I am happy, about all I plan is a DeWitts radiator.

Someday grandson will get her. I had a talk with my daughter; as she grew up around it she understands lethal performance so it sets until he is mature enough. He is 18 but not mature enough.

nice looking vette pics..

Sweet looking T/A in the background...
340 T/A block in her?????

thanks, that is my sons clone.. he bought it when he was in high school, originally it was a texas car. the previous owner had it painted in 1993, it needed a repaint when he got it, someone couldn't paint.. the car a fresh 440 rebuild, interior was mint condition. the under body was incredible. it had a posi rear I think 355 gears, it had a drive shaft saftey loop. so my son did the sanding, I did the very little metal work, that it needed.. I installed and painted the frame connectors, I installed the T/A exhaust, he added the aluminum rear window louver, I installed a MSD box different camshaft, and duel carb set up. for paint it was standox sublime green with standox clear.. extremely good bc/cc..
the paint job looked just like the sportbikes I have done, you see the tanks above to those bikes. not one nib in the paint.. that was just luck, something that size, not to get one nib is just that "luck"..

few more.. my other son got the tempest from south Carolina while he was in his last year of high school, he made out real good. previous owner cloned it to a GTO.all the badges, even interior, it had the a his and hers shifter, that wasn't correct for 1966 but it was still was cool, fairly new exhaust with flow masters. to top it all off, when we got the car home we were aware it was a v8 prior to the purchase. we checked the numbers on the engine and it was a 1967 GTO 400 motor.. this car still to this day start right up the first crank and idles excellent and has a sweet sounding exhaust..he paid just over 3 grand.. he bought some cheap primer and paint kit for 150.00 and I painted it

Looking real good, better than good. :thumb :thumb

Nice looking Goat and Dodge. The Goat looks same as the real deal, very nicely done.
I had a 72 Challenger, 440 3x2, cam, headers, mild head work, family makes having fun harder or yes dear it has a back seat... ;)
Picked up a new to us camper today, 26 long, 29' tow length, about 5200#, all I can say is sure beats the popup. We have an 85# blue Pitt who slept in the middle of the floor. I have a tablet tethered to my phone so typing is exciting.
What has been done to the 440? The loop usually means race car so the 3.55s are odd. Unlike blowers, NA engines cam, carbs usually want a higher numeric,

You and your family have some magnificent toys... and your skills with the paint gun are self-evident!! :upthumbs

Mac

I had started to ask if it was a clone, but I didn't want to insult you if it wasn't....
very nice paint work and cars.
