Painting Heads on 1970

My 1970 350 had some chrome covers over the heads from prior owner. Very difficult to take off so I left them off. The heads looked like they might have been painted white. They look terrible. Prefer not to put chrome back on.

Can I paint the heads? Is so, what is recommended.

1970 350 heads are cast iron and were painted orange with painted steel valve covers or aluminum covers. You can paint the heads just mask off and clean them good first. They were never white from the factory, at least I never saw any.
