I'm going to be painting my 73 roadster some time this summer. I have noticed there is wome wear marks where the hard and soft tops rest on the car on the back. Any solution to this? Do I need new weatherstripping? Do I need to tighten the latches that hold the tops down? Do I need to buy some protective strips for the car body (very unpleasing to the eye I would imagine)?;shrug

If the weather stripping on either top looks to be "tired" I'd replace it. But that alone won't stop the rubbing on the deck. I've seen a clear protective strip available from most of the parts suppliers that is nearly invisible and I'll be buying one of those when "The Toy" gets a fresh coat of paint.

You right on ,and it's as simple as that.

My 69 had the same issues and the above post is what I did and had good results.

Good guy's drive white.:w

Yeah I'm probably going to replace the weather stripping on the hard top anyway. I hope I can find some stripping for protection from both tops. I hope I can find something that's not an eyesore. Gotta keep my girl looking good.
