I was thinking of painting the nose and tail end of my '81. Will this affect the value of the car since the paint is still all original? :ohnoes

It has crossed my mind before too since it has always been thin on these parts. With the less than shiney laquer applied at St. Louis anything I could put on the bumpers would look too nice and stand out like a sore thumb. I'm going to leave it original.

Ah just paint it! Are you selling it? The way I see it I would only sell mine if someone offered me a crazy price or I was in a bad pinch. I just do what I like, which is for mine to appear mostly original. Owned it 10 years and found out it isn't the original color so figured I would just keep it red like it was when I bought it. Only downfall to painting anything is that first chip will bug you a lot.

Thanks Lance.....I'm still thinking of painting it this year but I think I'll buy a new front & back end in fiberglas so I can save the original parts :thumb.
