No, I'm not talking about the Black Sabbath song, but I was thinking today about all the "car too hot" threads that come up every Summer and came to a conclusion that since the C4s had the digital readouts they seem to make us a little paranoid about the temp. I am prone to this when I drive my '86, but when I am driving my '82 I don't realy mind it because the gauge doesn't give an exact temp other than around so and so degrees. Anyone else?

I only get paranoind when she goes over 220. She regularly runs between 190 and 200.

My Escort just has the analog gauge, and it has never really gone up halfway, except once. Even then I was a little worried, but it didn't get any higher then that.

I hear ya'. I'll go nuts watching that thing sometimes (especially during the summer in Phx). If I don't want the headache, I'll just hit the fuel info button and watch that for awhile. Yet w/ the price of premium that is not necessarily a healthy alternative. :L

It's funny, cuz in our BMW the analog gauge never moves. Goes to exactly 1/2 way and stays there...PERIOD. (regardless of weather) Very easy on the system...:L

The digital gauge in our vettes is like Chinese Water Torture! :crazy :crazy

I drove to Atlanta the other day and at one point my oil was up to 232! That's with the AC on and about 96 deg. weather. Normally it runs about 215 on oil and about 200 or so on coolant during highway driving, but if the thing had a normal gauge on it you wouldn't be able to tell 200 from 220! Guess I can always look at the voltage and oil pressure from now on!

yeah my saab 900se just stays at half mark?? but i tell you my vette a has new rad. 195 stat, and the fans come on before it gets to 195 and settles in at 180's. i cleaned between the rad. and con. almost 4 inches deep in leafs, and pine needles. got to remeber old rads lines get smaller in side from corrsion so less can flow in the rad for cooling, which is the only place for it to get cooled down.
