OK, I am going crazy. Is there a special trick to hooking the springs on the parking brakes on C3s? I have the bottom one on but can not get the top one hooked. This is driving me NUTS. I do have the tool but the springs dont seem to be quite long enough to get hooked once the pads are on. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Clint

Are you doing them on the car or off? When rebuilding a T/A I install the shoes and springs to the plate then the plate to the support. On the car can be done but you'll have to work around the spindle flange, as you probably know.
I have found some ss kits recently with incorrect spring radius's and they would not fit the shoes correctly. I had to groove the shoe a little so the spring sits flat on the shoe when engaged in the hole.
