Finally arrived today, new door carpeting, new window molding inside and out, new floor mats.

5 weeks ago I ordered the stuff from CC after waiting and waiting, and phoning. They finally arrived WOW the carpeting color is a perfect match, I also bought the installation kit for the window molding (6 rivets, some kit) and they come with the trim anyway. I guess I got taken for 2 bucks.

Oh well time to start pulling door panels.

Oh yeah the floor mats I got have the embroidered logo and they look amazing.

I was a little disappointed with the time it took to get everything, but after complaining about the time they shipped for free.

I would deffinatly order from CC again, great quality.

Mart :D

PS. if anybody has any tips for installing the door carpeting please let me know.

I know how happy it makes ya feel when you finally get the parts you've been waiting for. :J

Corvette Central was pretty good with helping me when I redid my interior a few years ago. :upthumbs

As for the door panels, I replaced the whole panel when I did mine, rather than just the carpeting, so I really can't help you there. Sorry. ;shrug

Yeah I gotta admit, I must have looked like a total nut when they arrived at my work today, but who cares I love workin on my baby.

Where did you get that avatar logo I want to get that embriodered on a hat.

Well theres Chevy's and theres Corvettes, no offense but I'm not into the Ford thing.

Anyway I spent the weekend rebuilding the drivers door, new carpeting, WS, windows seals inside and out, whew, the hardest part was trying to flatten the vinyl and foam enough to attach the carpet. The inner window seal with all the staples was a breeze.

Man does it look fantastic.

Thanks guys
Mart

I finally had an upholstery shop sew my carpet to the door panels. The thread is invisible. Still running the original pieces, too. I had tried glue, but it did not hold.

Well the drivers side door panel is done, and looks amazing.

Just need to cut the speaker grill hole and mount it.
Notice how bad the bottom edge is, it was crumbling apart.

Good deal, I need the inside window molding for my 84, should be the same for your 86. What was the cost?
Thank you

I did the inside and outside trim, I got the pieces from Corvette Central I think they were $49-59 for both inside and the same for the outsides. Check the web site.

They went on really nice, I ordered the rivets as well but it came with them anyway.

The inside uses the staples which are a real PITA to get off, I used a dremal which started to melt the plastic, so go slow. after I clamped the trim in place I drilled the holes and inserted the staples then used vice grips to close the staples tight.
