First time post and want to say this site has helped me more than any tech manual I have found!

Here is my question; I placed and order with ecklers last night for $650.00, web site quoted shipping for 2nd day was $47. I understood it could be more as this was just a quote but then got an email today that the rate would be $113. None of the parts were very big, nothing oversize, but they said it was the total size and weight that more than doubled the shipping cost. Is this normal?
Thanks

It's normal for Eckler's. They've been known to gouge on shipping. Of course, without knowing the details (how many pieces ordered; weight, size; miles to ship) it's hard to say but $113 sounds a bit steep. I've shipped aftermarket exhaust systems before, weighing 50 lbs. in a 24x22x16 box and it only cost $82 FedEx Ground.

That's why I don't shop with Ecklers.

They used box the size of my mointer to ship a mirrior.. *******s..

I have bought practically everything for my restoration from Wilcox up in Indiana. They have the best prices of ANY parts house that I have dealt with. They are really a great bunch of guys to deal with too.

Talk to Norm. Tell him Derek directed you to him.

I think that's a lot. My mother just ordered a 153 Lb. $788.00 treadmill and shipping was free. It came in a box the size of refrigerator.

I'm betting you won't get it on the second day OR get all of your parts without being back-ordered.

Me too. Great products. Excellent customer service. My entire interior (2 large boxes) was less then $60 shipping.

You may want to click on the sponsors link above and try some of them out mention you are a CAC member and you may even get a discount :D

You might want to try Volunteer Vette, I have had good experiences with them, there prices are lower than Ecklers and shipping is free over $99.

Thank you for the replys! I will check out the vendors.

One order from Ecklers is about all it takes......surprised they haven't figured it out yet. Wish I got that kind of margin enhancement!

I support Volunteer Vette, nice guys (and gals).
