With GM in and out of financial peril, I have been getting nevious about future parts needs. What do we do if we need a rear suspension part? or what if we need an electical relay or a PCM or any of the OEM parts that can only come the parts department of General Motors ? :confused

My guess would be that someone will go in and buy up all of the Corvette parts, turn around and sell them to us for twice they are today. Have you ever priced new old stock parts for a classic car? The people selling them must think the parts are made of gold. The problem will be that we will pay what they are asking so we can keep our babies on the street.:mad

I think Chevy is going to be ok. With the demise of Oldsmobile a few years back and now Pontiac, Hummer, Saab, and Saturn (and possibly GMC trucks), GM will be able to concentrate their efforts on three lines - Chevy, Cadillac, and Buick. I have nothing to base this on except speculation, gut feeling, and, of course, hope!

I have a friend who has a 98 indy pace car. she got hit in the drivers side and the rear quarter panel and the door needed to be replaced. She had to hunt around for the decals and finally found a set which cost her $500.00 for the drivers side alone? If she didn't buy them she'd have to drive around with only the one side in the base purple color?
