Oh.
Corvette
74 Coupe, Bright Yellow
Finally, just bought my first vette! Needs some TLC. Looking for the best prices on parts. Any ideas?

Get online and request every catalog you can. There are hundreds of them.

Determine what the purpose and scope of your project is before you begin. Will this be a driver or an NCRS restoration? Is it better to get new repro parts or used original? Compare prices and never buy anything on Ebay unless you know what the catalog prices are. There are many people who make a living on ebay selling stuff you can find in the mail order catalogs for a nice profit.

Try Dr. Rebuild, Mid America, Corvette Central, Rik's Corvette parts, Chicago Corvette, Eckler's, The last detail, etc. Do a search for Corvette Parts online and welcome to the club.

Yes, I agree. Decide what you want her to be like, and then get catalogs. If you like, some guys like me have a whole bunch of telephone numbers (toll free) where you can call to get these free catalogs. Then you'll have a good idea of what you need.

Good luck!! :D

Hey all

While on the subject of parts, anyone know of parts guys based out of Canada?

I remember buying stuff from Corvette America, Zip, etc last time I owned a Vette and after currency conversion, taxes and duties, often times a 35 dollar part would hit 100 dollars :( Since it's been a few years since then, I'm hoping that someone could give me a couple links to reputable sellers that don't charge an arm and a leg to get these parts across the border, or better yet, a Canadian based company. Thanks.

Sly

I shopped Doc Rebuild, Zip, Corvette Central, Ecklers, Mid America & Tld-Corvette.
I found Tld-Corvette to have great prices, but limited inventory. Corvette Central prices are OK.
I shop Doc rebuild when I need something like "correct" gaskets or hoses or whatever...although the Doc is up there in price.
I also got a few parts at a 'vette only salvage yard up here in NH. Good for when I can't find what I'm looking for in the catalogs.

Hi: You might want to try Tracy Performance out of Detroit Michigan. He's a real great guy & easy to deal with. He usually will try to beat anybody else's prices, which is nice, He also has alot of new-old stock as well as used parts. He's been the business a long time & knows his stuff. Check 'em out. Don't know off hand what his web site is. Just goto a search engine & type in Tracy Performance.................That's all folks! Dave
