Ok here is the deal I have a 2003 Z06 with just over 20,000 miles and an extended warranty GM's good for at least six years or 91,000 miles. Now my questions my passenger side drive motor has apparently gone bad. I have taken it to the dealer Garber Automotive Center in Green Cove Springs, Florida and they should be receiving one shipped oday.

Has anyone else had window drive motor issues

I believe this should fit under the extended warranty, I mean one day it worked the next it did not.

And one little off topic question here, is there a web link which has descriptions of how to tell the difference between model years the C-5's ?

Thanks

The C5's are hard to tell apart. Check this link:

The "wagon wheels" were changed to the thin spoke in 2000, I believe. There were no convertables until 1998. The fixed roof coupe (FRC) was 1999 and 2000 only, then the FRC became the ZO6. The Z06 has unique wheels, brake ducts, and screens. The 2003 had 50th anniversary badging. Color can give you a clue- Nausau Blue means an early C5, for example. The anniversary car was a unique red color with a unique interior and wheels.

I look first at roofline, then at wheels, badging, and color. But it can be next to impossible to tell, however.

Yes that is it

I could not remember the PP It is the GMPP warranty, purchased from the dealership often mentioned on the board here in Montana

I had a problem with my passenger door window, but it was a rattle, not a failure to operate.
The dealer "adjusted" the regulator under warranty.

my passenger side window always gives me problems. it randomly works or not works. Im starting to think its the regulator.

Warranty covered it

I have the GMPP extended with $200.00 deductible o rI woul dnot of had warranty coverage as the car was purchased new in November 2002, mileage 21,000. So it ended up costing me $214.65, the deductible and the portion for the governor. Total would have been $411.64, they replaced the regulator

Ah, another Jacksonville member !
Pseudomind,
I got my Z at Nimnicht over on Cassat, with several problems just after purchasing the car, I have to say that they took excellent care of me.
Their corvette tech, (Scott, I think) was overly freindly and spent over an hour with me just walking around the car and explaining various items I could maintain as well as things to watch out for. He has been with them over 20 years and seemed very knowledgeable. I saw the bills for the repairs they made under warranty and although it will be scary without warranty any longer, I felt very comfortable with the service department. Give them a try and let me know if you feel the same about them!

Chuck.

Another JAX Z06 with a broken pass window motor!!

I have a 2001 Z that is about to get its 3rd pass window motor, cant figure it out they just fail after a few months.

JAX Mandarin, Black/MR

I cannot either, it worked one day and not the next

The car is garage kept and I do not normally drive it in the rain if I can avoid it. Even when washing the car I do use a hard stream, I am going to start running it up and down a bit more often to see if that will help.

I believe I am going to the following Thursday night, so I will check with some others.

I am going to looking for a knowledgeable Corvette technician here in Jacksonville I can talk to from time to time. I do not mind paying if I know I am talking to someone who knows their business, but this running to a dealer and paying their fees for a hit or miss proposition is not my cup of tea.

theres a few guys around town but frankly I do most of the work myself cause I have a buddy who is a Mr Goodwrench. I would stay away from that guy in Arlington if you know who I mean, if not ask me.

My Duaghters new father-in-law is a past pres of the jax vettes and I have been thinking about trying a meeting but my wife isnt intersted AT ALL with my toys, I might be able to get her to join to a very casual cruise before a meeting.

If it is covered by warranty I can bring my wife's YukonXL in for a new passenger window regulator. Just failed. Once one goes the other will be soon to follow. I replaced both in my Silverado at the dealer for $569.00.
