I saw a comment on this in "newbie with a brake problem" thread, thought it was worth exploring since I am doing some brake work right now.

Master cyl was leaking bad, booster was messed up pretty bad.

Bought a new booster/master cyl from autozone.

When everyone is saying the pushrod length has to be the same, are we talking about the rod that connects between the back of the booster to the brake pedal, or are we talking about the rubber cylindrical covered rod actually extending from the booster through the firewall?

If it is the 2nd, is there a way to adjust this? I am still having a very hard time removing the old booster, even with my stubby little arms finding room under the dash to wrench away at the PB nuts is pretty dang hard.

I think they were probably referring to when a car is converted from non-power to power brakes. In that case the rod from the booster to brake pedal arm length would be different. If you already have PB and replacing with PB, you shouldn't have any problems with the rod.
