Easy quesiton here.

Is there a preferred method for posting a pic of my new C5 on as part of my "profile". Any particular resolution or other preference that is best suited for my posts?

I don't want you guys to get hung up for too long while all my posts load.

MidnightBlue,

You can post a picture in our members gallery, size around 300x400. When you have posted it in the gallery, right click and copy its location. Then go into your Settings/Edit Profile. Paste the location and put [ img ] at the front and [ /img ] at the back. (*I spaced between [ and img on purpose, in your signature, there will be no spaces).

Then when you post, click "Show Signature".

Typically, you should only post your signature once in a thread if it has a picture attached. This keeps the CAC forums from slowing down.....as they do in other forums.

As for an avatar. The maximum size is 110x110 pixels. Just resize your picture to that size or smaller and go to the Settings/Edit Options. Go to the bottom of the page to change avatar. Hit the Browse button and find your sized picture. Submit Modifications......done.

Hope this helps....Nick

Guess I'm just not too bright, but I can't find the gallery. Can you give the string?

Thanks.

Tom

Thanks Leon.

I never would have found that! Now, if the magic works....

Tom

Tom,
I think you need to put brackets: [ and ] around the img and /img in order for your picture to show.
If this doesn't work, we'll call Rare81!

Tom, what you want it this

{IMG}http://corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/gallery/data/500/9017030423_Gray_Rocks_-_NT-_48_kb-med.jpg{/IMG}

But change the {} in my post to [].

9017030423_Gray_Rocks_-_NT-_48_kb-med.jpg

This will link directly to the picture and not the page.

Thanks Leon!

I was about to do what you just did!
Very easy-to-understand explanation, too.

Midnight...where are you at on the Sig Pic front...need help?
Heidi :)

Thanks to both of you Heidi and Leon. Now if someone could explain how to resize it to become an Avatar, I would be very greatful.

Thanks again.

Tom

I just took the current photo you have there and opened it in MS Paint. Under Image... there is a Stretch/Skew option. Adjust both the height and width to 27% and this yielded an image around 4kbytes at 122x75 pixels, within the forum avatar specs.

Now go to your profile settings and change your avatar. It will allow you to browse to a custom avatar that will be stored on the server. Browse to your new file and you are good to go.

Keep in mind you need to keep the file extension as .jpg. Paint might not see it initially when you try to open it. When opening you may need to change your File Type option to All Files. Let us know if you need more help.

Or IM me an email address and I will send you the one I just did.

Leon

Quick note here Leon for all to see. Thanks for helping me figure this thing out. I really appreciate it!
