The car was really looking great!
I trust your ride home was smooth.
I can't wait to hear what happens with your e/t when you install the carbon fiber shafts and run the light weight rims.

Here's a closeup of the setup:
Any history of that car available prior to you aquiring it?
GrandSportC3 said:I actually got most of the history of the car...
The original owner had a body shop in Rhode Island. After he bought the car - he added fender flares and the wing.. Later he converted teh front to a tilt front setup. The car was featured at many expos/shows.. The tilt front was originally operated by a convertible top motor and could be opened and closed just like power windows.. I got rid of that motor because it wasn't working and added lots of weight... The car was re-painted almost annually and actually had flames on it at one point in time.. Later - the owner gave the car to his daughter to drive to college... After she graduated (in the early 80's) she moved away and the car was stored... It needed some TLC etc.. but the guy lost interest in the car... At one point - the original engine (a 427/390 HP) froze up from sitting too long and he put a 327 small block in it... Later, after moving to Connecticut - he traded the car for a driveway.. (to a guy that has a pavement company).
The new owner planned to fix up the car.. but never did..and after owning the car for 10 years (without ever using it) he put it up for sale.. I was the first one to respond to his ad in the Autotrader and bought the car...

JLMvette73 said:Thanks for identiffying where the headlights came from. I was goin' nuts trying to figure what vehicle I had seen those on. For some reason I was thinking Oldmobile. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures where that same configuration has been used in Maco style modifications. The original owner that did the "customizing" must had been heavely influenced my Silva's ideas, thus the one piece tilting front clip, fender flares, etc. Regardless, your car is tastefully modified (although I still can't make up my mind about the rear spoiler). However, it's your car, and you shouldn't worry about whether other people do or don't like how you modify it.
