That is one evil looking machine!! Looks great!

Wow looks great!! Tell me more about it. What kind of wheels? Whats it got under the hood? Did you convert to non pop-up lights?

Some of the best Vettes I have seen on my various travels over the years were surprisingly in the Netherland. I have some pictures from one show I went to in Rotterdam and they were as good as I have seen anywhere. Pity they are on 35mm photo's and unfortunately i don't have a scanner.

Nice car :)

...what paint scheme for your 78?

Thanks Guys,

The color of my wife's car is Monte Carlo Magic(brand Standox by Dupont).

It's a limited exlusive line that will be sold for a short period and it changes in four different colors; red/darkpurple,dark blue, dark green and alittle goldish sheme.

I don't have the engine specs or HP ratings because I have problems with the flyweel hitting the starter. this because of bad or worn main bushings. The past owners that owned the car didn't take good care of the vette as they were in my eye's abusive with the car. So I decided to give this car a lot of love and attention where needed. The engine has still over 350 HP still need to be dynoed and it has performance Aluminum heads and intake, special cam, headers and an electric fan. The engine is from a 72 caprice and I just bought a '76 corvette engine that needs to rebuild and the performance stuff will be transfered over to this engine and the problem will be solved. I will post a picture of the time the corvette was stock and ugly.
As concerning the wheels, these are 18" and 11 inch overall width with 245 front and 275 rear with adaptors in the rear. The weels are from Heavydeez intro wheels.

My corvette has the same wheels with different spokes, but with the same tire meassurements. I will get rid of the stock mirrors because of the poor visibility and will replace them with older style chrome mirrors. These are great in rear visibility. The color will be electron blue as blue is my favorite color. It is the original C5 color and the color code is GM 21. On top of this color there will be another transaparant color sprayed named "crystal rainbow". If it gets in contact with the sun the metallic flakes in the transparant color gives a rainbow effect on the car. It is also a limited exclusive paint by Standox Dupont. Take a look at their international website; www.standox.com
As to my engine specs it has the numbers matching l-48 block with the Holley Systemax engine system; peroformance aluminum heads, aluminum highrise intake, lunatti cam and dual timing chains by lunatti, full roller aluminum lunatti rocker arms, edelbrock 750cfm elctric choke carb, dynomax ceramic headres, patriot sidepipes,2500 stall converter, elcetric radiator fan, and summit aluminum radiator.
Future mods 700r 4speed transmission and vbp aluminum calipers front and rear. My car came with the monza lights and my wife's vette with the pop up which I will be changing for a monza look with rounded hallogen angel eys lamps. These are the same as the BMW 5 series headlight also called angel eyes.

Kind regards,

Ryan

Sounds like a lot of work but it also sounds like you enjoy it. Half the fun is in the process of getting there!

ryan

you let her go out alone with a ride that that?? you must be one trusting husband, lol. that is one very nice ride. i'll bet she gets hit on a whole lot with it, lol. you have done a great job with it so far. the engine swap out should only serve to make it even better. it's a real nice ride for sure!!
thanks for the pictures.

That's cool. Those look like Intro Pentia wheels like what I have on my 69. The difference is you were able to get the SOFT lip which looks so cool. When I had mine done in the 18x12 they were not able to produce the soft lip (2002). The fender flares look fantastic with those huge meats stuffed in there.

Did the folks at www.hvydeez.com help out with those wheels?
