I thought I would post some pictures since my youngest came home sick from school so while he is sleeping I thought I would take a few minutes and get caught up on somethings.

We pulled the old motor out last night. It went so smoothly it was eerie! I guess I am used to those tv shows where even with 20 guys working on a car they have something happen.

Turns out both motor mounts are broken other than that not any real surprises. The excitement is building and I can't wait to get back down there
and do some more cleaning!

I assume that the shiney silver Crossfire is going in. Nice looking engine. I used those valve covers on my last build too. What mods are done to it in case I missed an earlier post.

BTW tell me about the Pontiac. :D

Glad to say the boy is feeling better. Sure are a lot of things going around.

I went with a 383 stroker motor from Skip White with 195cc aluminum heads http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...em250209192447

Am going with the xram manifold:
http://www.x-ram.com/

Bought a new pro race tranny 700R4 by Performabuilt
new rear end 3.70
100 amp alternator (chrome)
8" harmonic balancer
tranny pan
push rods
Bored 52mm throttle bodies
45 psi fuel pump
new starter
new K & N air filters
new steering box ( i forgot about that part!)
new compressor

and so many other new parts that I think with the exception of the wiring everything has been done. A new radiator was put in by the prior owner. Less than 500 miles on new Brakes , new tires, new seats (can't wait to sit in them!) as you know the list goes on and on!

As for the Pontiac...that is for my husbands project. He has a 68 firebird that he is doing a frame off restoration on. Much like me I guess you would call his a resto mod. The 427 engine is going in that and a roll cage for some 1/4 mile rides. Franky I think I am going to be afraid to sit in that car when its running.

He is a good guy for putting that on hold to work on the vette.
LOL...I called him last night on my way home from work he confessed later that he was in Advanced Auto looking for some red engine mounts - I think he loves that I would rather have red motor mounts than red roses for Valentines Day!!

Nice projects. Keep us posted.

Congratulations on the progress.

The TV shows believe that people will not watch without a certain amount of drama. For me, I'd prefer to have the entire program devoted to practical no-BS information, but obviously they're trying to appeal to a broader market. ;shrug
