On the Corvette LT4 engine:
What is that pipe coming from the top of the Driver's side exhaust manifold and routing along the bottom of the valve cover to the rear of the intake (?)with some kind of black regulator-thingie ????
And this is part of what system?

I believe that would be the Exhaust Gas Recovery (EGR) system. It's part of the smog system. It runs part of the exhaust gases through the intake manifold a second time.

The EGR valve should close off this system when you go under heavy throttle.

I thought I read somewhere that the EGR system was deleted on the LT4 engines due to the cam overlap made it redundant. Could someone clarify this please.

LT4 has no EGR system... what your looking at is part of the AIR injection system designed to heat the cats up quicker on cold start for better emissions.
