Okay, after about a year of searching, found a 99 C5 that fit my budget, plus had a fairly known history. Bought the car yesterday, 50k miles, 1 owner(passed, reason for sale). Key fob would not work when I took ownership. Took the car home, wrote down codes and cleared. Drove the car approximately 200 miles during the day.
This morning, re-checked codes and found nothing, still clear from yesterday. Found out that the key fob did not have a battery so put one in and went thru the programming sequence. Everything working..but as I worked away from the car, after locking, the horn beeped again and interior lights, running lights came on. This happened 3 times as I watched, then stopped with car locked. Did a few searches here, then went and pulled the codes. Found U1064 H in RFA module. Put passive switch on FOB to "ON" and "OFF: with same results. Really isn't a big issue with me to not use the FOB, but would like to get it right if I can. Probably a known issue with previous owner and thus the reason that the battery was pulled.
Anyone have any advice?? As I just got the car, I do not have a FSM yet, but hoping someone can push me in the right direction.
Thanks
