I bought my Vette brand new with a little sticker on the radio and when I took off the sticker, major scratch marks remained.

Suggestions?

So you're saying it needs to be polished and cannot be removed?

I had to remove the stupid looking sticker and it was just TOO easy to make the scratch with my fingernails.

So you're saying that the plastic was never meant to be taken off? I'd try but I'd just make it worse.

Thanks!

Those plastic film coverings, usually associated with the screens of electronic equipment, are put on at the factory to protect the plastic face from scratches during the assembly and shipping process. There are meant to be removed, or they can be left in place if you so desire. You just have to be careful when removing it. ;)

To repair the minor scratches (I assume they are minor scratches), get a plastic polishing compound such as jeweler's paste, or one of the fine products from Meguiar's or Mother's. They'll take care of your scratches as long as they're not too deep. :upthumbs

I know I could get the plastic film off since, as you say, it was meant to come off.

With that said, do you have a suggestion as to the proper way to take it off without causing any damage? Or should I just let Chevy do it for me?

is it really that bad? are there huge scratches all over the radio? if its minor dont worry about it if it was your paint now thats a different story but its not so dont sweat it. If it bothers you that much its under warranty take it to the dealer.
