I need to replace the passenger inner skirt (fender well) on my 81. How do I remove the bonding adhesive without ruining the body. Please help.

Hammer and chisel. Work slowly. The skirt is bonded to the fender along its outer edges and along the drip rail. Make note of the thickness of the bonding compound since you will want to duplicate it when the new skirt goes in.

A good Corvette fiberglass reference work will provide pix.

I also had to remove mine (after smashing into a tree on the right side...) but don't forget to remove the airco compressor and all the stuff on the right side. It wound be easy but with the wheel out of the way, you can get it out through there. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I figured as much. I guess I will also need to carefully sand the remaining bonding material. The body is off of the frame and has been totally stripped. Thanks again for your comments.

There is a color difference between the bonding compound and the fiberglass. You'll be able to see it.
