Polished Aluminum wheels & Blue Magic scratches

I just applied a coat of Blue Magic to my polished aluminum wheels on my 2004 C5 and it appears as if I now have some thin line scratches and a very slight haze. From what I have been reading I may have used the wrong type of product on the polished wheels.

Is there anything that will remove these thin line scratches. It's not all that bad unless you look real close but I know it and see it. I probably should have used Zaino but it appeared as if this stuff would really protect and clean the wheels. Thanks for your help!

Hi irf, sorry to hear about the scratches. I did the same thing but in a small spot on one of my wheels. I finally took the "Power Ball" and some wax (same stuff you use on the body) and buffed most of it out. I can still see it a little, but like you said you have to look really hard.

Remember, don't use anything with petroleum products in it.

Thanks for the reply. I actually spoke to Mothers yesterday and they also recommended the Powerball with their plastic polish. They said that should eliminate the slight scratches and haze. Hopefully it will work! Take care.

Let us know how it works. If you have luck doing that, I may just try it to remove the very minor ones I have.

BTW, Mothers has 2 sizes in the Powerball. I have both, but just got the smaller one with the extension. I think that'll work better on the 5 spoke wheels.

The wheels are all now clearcoated....so the recommendation to use what you use for the body is correct.
