I just sent an email to the Limerock Speed Way in refference to the possibility of a Corvette get together at their LeMans Series Race in late June-early July. Would this be somthing that CAC members might be interested in?

Hi!

I am an owner of early Corvettes and was wondering if a group of Corvette owners decided to attend your Lemans Series race in late June-early July would there be a safe place to park our cars and a possible spot to set up a convenance tent?

Thank you for any information!

Sounds like a great idea. Is there a firm date for the event?

Hi! Gary

American Le Mans New England Grand Prix
June 30-July 1, 2006

Information is on their web pag. I think it would be neat to see the new Corvettes in action.

Hi!~ Gary

Here is a posting from the NCRS site in refference to Lime Rock Race:

Ray,
Absolutely. I’ll be there. They had a Corvette show & shine the day before the ALMS race on the main straight, and they have also have a Corvette Corral and hospitality tent during the weekend. You won’t get closer to the C6R than there, and the pre-race car inspection is right on the main straight also. The paddock is filled with the teams and it’s like every one is at their garage looking in through a big open garage door. All laid out on spotless checkerboard tiles, spares, machines, tools, wings, race stuff.
The crowd is still comparatively small. It’s not a big track with mega-crowds. If you have ever been to the Indy 500, that is a crowd. The Corvette drivers are very gracious of their time and the line for their autographs is big; bigger than any others.
We could have a non-sanctioned no point judging event. Just grinnin and libations. If you can attend, it’s really a great little track. I ran into Ray Zisa (his wife won a lap in the Pace Corvette), Bob and Sue Wadyka, Sal (???) and JR Amantea and family and quite a few others (???). It’s big time enough to bring out the factory race teams, and small enough to be nestled in the northwest corner of CT and not have enormous crowds. There isn’t much motel lodging, plus a few bed & breakfasts and lots camp out at the track. It was on TV too, so we got the whole enchilada.

PS There are several jpeg from my excellent adventure there last July. Under Woody’s New
Lime Rock July 2005 (Don’t go there if you don’t want to see branded photos.)

I know we talked about Limerock when we picked up your Nova, I guess it's going to happen. Those pictures are at BG 05.
