I am toying with the idea of trading my '84 auto for a stick. If anyone is interested please let me know and we can talk, I am a little hesitant but I would not mind seeing if anyone is interested! Located in plainfield, IL.

Here's some pictures, which make it look much better than it is :)

Hey Craig,

I'm almost in the exact same boat as you. Got an '87 Gold Automatic that I think is great, but all the same, I want a manual. If anyone out there has a '92/94'/94' manual for sale or trade I'm interested. Would most likely need to be a trade and me paying off the difference, as I can't afford to own two. Maybe in the future.

Craig, not trying to steal your busines . . ..

Thanks.

Hey, I have plenty of sticks, which one you want? I just picked them up from the yard this weekend ;-) Seriously though, I see that you're in Plainfield. Why not run down to Corvette Collection and see what they have? The website is www.corvettecollection.com and they usually have a decent selection. I don't work for this company, but I was in there a few weeks ago looking at ZR1's. They had a GS as well as a 1996 Collector's Edition LT4. Never hurts to look! Pluss, I am sure they would take your car on trade.

I always drive through and browse their cars, they are about 1.5 minutes away from my house :) The problem is that I am pretty much broke and they usually ask a little more than I can afford.

But financing is the American way, lol. The thing is, with a car company like them, you can usually finance vehicles a little easier. I thought some of their prices were a little high, but NEVER pay what they ask for on the sticker. Haggle and negotiate. If they won't negotiate with you, go somewhere else. They do have some nice cars, but they aren't super rare or anything like that. Another good thing about a dealer is that they can take your car on trade. That too can be part of the negotiation. As a side note, I am in the process of financing my new ride with a company called JJ Best ( www.jjbest.com ). They are awesome to work with, and their rates are great (I got 7.99% on a '91 ZR1 for 5 years). There are deals out there, you just have to know where to look. Good luck in your search.

Corvette Collection tried to tell me my car was worth two thousand dollars on a trade in, so, no - that is definitely not happening. :) lol

Two thousand dollars, ****, I hope they give you some vaseline with the money if you ever sell your car to them for that much.

I mean I know an '84 is not worth that much money. But I firmly believe I could throw it up on the market and get 3500-4000 dollars for it in a heartbeat.

They also wanted 6500 for the purple '86 porsche 944 out front. 6500?? I could buy a late 80's turbo 944 for that much!

They are absolutely insane.

Did you ask them if they wanted the wheels and motor with the car too? That is crazy!

You have a tan/brown 84. Personally I always liked that color combination. Most people don't. Well het I have an extra 86 with a 4+3 in it. It needs some work, runs great though. i would sell it really cheap if you are interested. Not sure if I would trade, I couldn't get your pics to load.

Well i just got your pics to load, I would trade you!!!! thats a good looking car. you know you can always put a manual in it if you want, if you are mechanicaly inclined.

Yeah, when I initially bought the car, I was like "Good lord, this is the most hideous color combination I've ever seen."

And about one month later I was in looooooooove :)

As far as the manual trans swap, I didn't want to deal with putting the clutch pedal assembly in, swapping center consoles, and spending all that time, only to devalue the car in the end. I like to keep my cars (especially Corvettes ;) ), as original as I possibly can.

Do you have any pictures of your '86, and about how much were you asking for it?

I just finished paying off my '84 and tuned up everything, she's running so nice I don't know if I can bring myself to "break up" with her!

86

Well My 86 needs some work, It runs, and could pass for a daily driver. But needs TLC. If you give me your e-mail Address i'll send some pics, and tell you a little about it. You can e-mail me at Thingsstf@aol.com

Craig, I'm going to send you some pics and some info through email. Hopefully I will get them sent tonight or tomorrow morning, I have to load the pics to my computer still, I'm a little slow with computer stuff:D
