The only way my driver door will lock or unlock is manually with the key or the inside lock on the door. The lock seems to bind or the power mechanisum dosn't have enough power to move the lock. How hard is it to take the door panel off to get a look at what is going on?:confused I'm not the most mechanical guy in the world.;help

How long has it been since you replaced the battery in the key fob?

Read the Remote key thread posted 9/25. The fob doesn't work by pushing the buttons to unlock the door as the newer systems operate. Also if you replaced the batt. in the fob it needs to be reprogrammed to your car. This is a passive system. You walk away with fob in your pocket it is suppose to lock the doors. When you return it automatically unlocks the doors. At least that's what I have been told. I'm trying to get mine to work in my 94 and the fob I bought new from GM was defective. Maybe yours is to. They can test these at the dealership. The buttons are used to arm or disarm the system and will unlock the pass. door only. Anybody else got any additional info please feel free to chime in.
