My 94 has dual power seats. The drivers side works fine. The passenger side will go forward, but won't go backwards. I havent really had a chance to take a good look see at it yet,but was wondering if anybody else has had this problem. Is it gonna cost me an arm and three legs to fix or is it a simple fix? ;shrug

Pop The Seat Bottom Out And In The Center Front Of The Seat Is A Metal Bar
To Remove The Seat .
Once Out Look At The Orange Wire And See If It Is Broken

I'm hoping the 94 is the same as the 96. In which case, look under the driver's seat up front, under a wide plastic band. Remove the pop-in retainer to release the band, Inside is a plastic box with a removable cover. Inside the box are three identical relays. Swap the outer two and try again. If the 94 is different, then someone with a 94 will have to chime in.

Since the motor runs forward, it should be ok since all you are doing is reversing the polarity to drive it the other direction. The relay is used for both seats however the contacts inside could be bad for the passenger seat motor connection. The other possibility could be a broken wire as suggested before or something mechanical with the motor or transmission gears. You will need to troubleshoot further. My guess is the relay.

reefdiver, don't leave us hangin'. Inquiring minds and all, you know? :)

Sorry KOPBET...didnt mean to leave ya hangin. :D I'm not going to get a chance to tear into it till the weather warms up some around here. My vette is stored for the winter in one of my wife's friends garages, and although it is heated....it's still COLD in it !! I appreciate the suggestions as to the problem-but till it gets a bit warmer-afraid I wont know for sure. I'll keep ya posted when I get a chance to get a good look see at it. Thanks again. :)

I finally got this problem solved.....turns out the switch was stuck. It just wouldnt go in the reverse position. While having a new serpentine (sp) belt installed I asked the mechanic to take a quick look see......didnt take more than 2 minutes to fix,and the really surprising part is................NO CHARGE !! :)
