I have a power steering pump leak at the low pressure inlet tube where the hard metal pipe, that comes on the pump, intersetc the pump. It is leaking at this metal pipe/pump junction. Has anyone seen this before? How is the metal pipe fitted to the pump, is it just a press fit, or is there an o-ring? I was thinking of just RTV'ing the junction, but I woudl rather fix it with a bit more engineering. Any thougts?

FYI

After talking with some steering gurus over at Delphi (maker of PS Pump) The metal pipe is just pressed into the pump, no o-ring. They suggested just cleaning the area and using Loc-Tite 290 (Green - Penetratng) around the junction to seal it up. That is what I'm going to do and will post with results, but I'm confident it should do the trick.

I think this problem has been posted many times before and it seems like a pretty common problem with some C4's. I'm eager to see your results because I have a leak coming from that area somewhere.

Some even suggested using stop leak fluid but I don't think that's really a fix, it's just a temporary band aid method, if you ask me.

Good luck and keep us posted!
