Any tips on removing the power steering rack? I'm having a helluva time getting the steering shaft from the rack...I've removed the lower pinch-bolt as per the Factory Service Manual, and disassemble the rag joint, and I still can't seem to get enough play in the system to remove it.

I have been working on my steering system for quite a while to get it right. o remove the lower universal joint from the R+P remove the pinch bolt, then I got a real long punch and prien gently between the R+P and the universal. Theres nothing else holding it in. Remember to 'remove' the pinch bolt.
Hope this helps, I am quite intimate with C4 steering now. Ask away.

Thanks, John, the Pinch Bolt was the secret. I _just_ got the car back on the road after a 9 month hibernation....now if I could just get it to pass emissions before Jun 1, I'll save a little money on license plate renewal.
