Hey Everyone,

My passenger side window isn't working. The nylon gear is stripped (the motor turns, but the window barely moves).

It is the original motor and is riveted in place. Is it possible to re-install the motor? If so, how do I remove the rivets?

Thanks!

Hi Minifridge1138, all you have to do is drill the rivet head with a drill bit just bigget than the inside hole of the rivet. The end ring of the rivet will stay on the drill. Very easy to do. Hope this helps.. 78 Shark

Make sure you prop the door glass up before making your repairs. You can lose a finger if that door glass falls.

:)

So can I reinstall the same motor after I drill out the rivets?

I'm trying to learn as much as possible before i start tearing things apart.
Thanks!

I am tackling the same job with my 79. I want to make sure I have all the parts needed to reassemble everything when I am done. Does anybody know what the correct rivet size is to replace the existing rivets? And also where can I get them?
