Here is something interesting. I have a sissor lift for the passenger side window, and a ribbon lift on the driver's side. The ribbon lift is not very good, and all the contacts have been cleaned. We are trying to figure out one of two solutions:

1. Fix ribbon lift so it is as robust as the passenger side
2. Buy a sissor lift for the driver's side, all brand new

Comments please! I know that sissor lifts are 10 times better than ribbons, but do not know where to buy (if at all), or how to bring back ribbon from near dead.

I took both ribbon-style out of my '84 (both were working) and replaced with the faster scissor-type. I'd replaced the ribbons on the left side twice already.

The grease on the sliders gets old and collects dirt. They can be cleaned and regreased but will never be as fast as the newer design and it is a PITA job.

I have L&R operable assemblies for the '84 in the garage, looking for a new home.:w

Just ordered my regulator from Utah today. When I ask for and get good advise, I act on it. Many thanks! Btw, there were only 10 sets left, now 9, so if you need one better get one. Some stuff I wanted was sold out.
