I have an 81 vette, drivers side window is stuck in the fully down position. I know in order to pull the window regulator the window needs to be in the fully up position. Any idea how to get it to the up position? All power is good

1st Welcome to CAC!!!!
enjoy!!!!

2nd your window....
you are going to have to remove the interior cover.there is a cover underneath it near the bottom
of the door which is the access for the motor.check to see if you have power there,or if the motor is working....

Hi Bill thanks for the welcome and for the reply!

I have pulled the in interior cover and checked the voltage At the motor both up and down power is there. I unbolted and slid the motor cover back to check the brushes and they are worn down completely. The motor will run in the down mode but not the up, so I suspect the up side of the coil is bad and the motor needs to be replaced. I have had the regulator out in the past ...to replace the window gear the motor was working then and I was able to raise the window to take the spring pressure off the mechanism.... This time the window is stuck in the down position and I'm not sure how to manually raise the window to release the spring pressure.

You can replace the motor with out removing the window just pull the motor and window will be free to move(if I remember right)
