As everyone knows, there's not much room behinds the seats, so I'm thinking about putting in a powered subwoofer in the back. Has anyone done this or currently using one in a C3? What brand or model has worked the best? Thanks, :w

As you pointed out, there's limited room in our C3's for sound equipment. Room for a sub, amp and for that matter, modern larger magnet 6X9's can be a challenge too. Here's how I solved the issue, the amp is behind the passenger seat, and the sub box and speakers are removeable should I need to.

That looks GREAT!! How deep is the subwoofer section? How much room did you loose?? Looks geat. Thanks,

Looks great!

Do your T-tops fit in the back still?

That was why I was asking about the depth of the subwoofer section. Does your T tops still fit back there? But I also still would like to know the depth. I've already installed a pair of 6x9's pretty much the same way you have. I covered mine with Black vinyl. I have the doeskin interior and there's already is a lot of black on the inside. I put a Kenwood head unit in the glove box. Left the original cassette in the dash. I have a JL amp in the compartment behind the passengers seat. New Boston speakers in the dash and the 6x9's are Focals in the back. I have some great highs coming out, but misssing really good bass. So this is where my subwoofer question comes from. :w

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them! The Sub box was built to the requirements of the Kicker subwoofer itself. It ended up being 4X10.5X24 inches. I made it out of 1/2 MDF and filled it with polyester fiber fill, fluffy stuff that helps make the bottom end tight. The T-tops do still fit, at 4 inches deep I didn't really loose much room.

Here's the head unit I'm using. I like this unit because of the performance specs, it looks clean and it wasn't stupid expensive. Plus, the iPod cable is easily hidden, keeping the iPod in the glove box, but controlled through the head unit or it's remote.

I will forward some pics of mine later. I bought a flat style powered subwoofer and mounted it on the rear wall of the storage area. T tops fit wit extra room and the sound is Awesome (it's pointing straight forward). I ran the power wire down and into the back of the battery box. I actually have a Polk ($100+) but had a Crutchfield before and it sounded better ($200). Unfortunaety, something went wrong with the Crutchfield (they took the return no prob) and, because it is such a popular item, the back order was 2 months so I bought the Polk in the meantime. It's called a Sound Ordinance
