I am getting ready (finally) to put the new motor in. It has sat about 6 mos. new everything, 350 converted to 383. I have hooked up a drill (clockwise from mtop view) pumping oil great did not want to fire it up dry. the problem is the oil is pumping nice through the rocker push-rods only on the left side valve train. it flows major in the valley and every thing seems great, but the pass side valve train it not flowing like the drivers side. in fact not at all. I also hand cranked ot 180 degrees, same thing. I am afraid to install this motor like this, am I missin something???? Thanks

Are you using a "primer" that mimics the base of a distributor ... does it have the two bosses (or one wide one) that fit into the block? ... without the bosses, the oil tends to flow out of cam gallery and dumps back into pan ... & have difficulty making much pressure.

BTW/FYI ... distributor runs at half speed of crank ... a 600 rpm drill mimics a 1200 rpm crank.
