What would a good 1990 ZR-1 cost today? Is insurance even higher for a 1990 ZR-1 than a regular 1990 Vette?

Insurance costs depend on your age, driving record, company, and locale. Mines pretty reasonable about $250/6 months. However I am 50, a good driving record, and live in rural Kansas. That 90 that 6shooter pointed you to appears to be a really good deal, wish I had the extra money, I'd look seriuously at it.

$20,000, not bad I thought they were in the area of 30's. As for insurance i'm 18, never been in a crash yet, have no points, and im in Jersey. Currently I drive my moms Audi A6 1998 and I think it costs somewhere around $2,000 to $3,000 as a part time driver, which im not.

Re Insurance

When I called to add Vette to my policy agent never even asked if ZR1 or not....guess it depends on the agent :eyerole

They can determine that from the VIN, so that may be why they don't ask. The value of the car is higher, so it might raise your comprehensive a bit, but my insurance for the car is about the same as for any of our other cars.

Well DUH

I knew that...this excessive smiling :D must be killing off brain cells...accelerating the early onset alzheimers ...oh well

cool only 18 and getting a ZR-1!! what are you doing for a living!!! good luck and no DWI's in her....:cool

The fist question my insurance agent asked when I said I bought a 90 Vette was “It’s not a ZR1 is it?” I’m 60 and no tickets 1 accident in the last 5 years in California $1200/yr.

Although the ZR-1 is cheap for that kind of performance, no I can't afford one. I guess i'll eventually work my way up to a 1990 Z51 instead, but I can dream.
