Problem 78 vette

Yesterday I was going to take the last cruise for this years summer.
I drove down the street and suddenly the motor stop running. I turn the key
and the motor is running again for a couple of minutes and then stops again.
I turn the key and nothing happens, I wait for a few minutes and try again,
The motor starts again and runs smoothlie for a few minutes. This goes on and onthe motor starts and runs good then it stops and sometimes it is like the
battery is empty but few minutes later it kranks but wont run, and few minutes later it starts and runs good for a few minutes.
I hope you guys can give me some answers

I had a similar type problem when I first got my 78. The distributer had been changed and finally a mechanic found a small piece of plastic that had broken off under the cap and was causing the problems.

Have you checked the fuel filter? PG.
