Anybody else here ever have a problem doing business with this guy? If it turns out that several have I will go into more detail if anyone wants to know.

Thanks, Greg

Tony Barela might be better known as vette-parts4u, a used Corvette parts seller on eBay. He will lie, mislead and attempt to hide problems about the condition of the parts even if you ask specific questions concerning common problems such as cracks in C4 door panels. His usual tactics when you complain after receiving the item is to promise a refund if you will return the parts. When you do he will claim you switched the parts and sent back different parts and will then deny your refund and give you the f-word. The ONLY reputable seller that will sell you properly represented parts and treat you in a professional manner and WILL NOT give you the runaround is Vette2Vette. From my personal experience (and I have bought a lot of used Corvette parts) you are absolutely at risk with any other on-line used Corvette parts vendor unless you travel to their business and personally inspect the parts yourself before you pay for them. Another horrible disreputable and fraudulant seller is in Virginia Beach. These guys are also among the worst and will defraud you with misrepresented parts any chance they get. They deceive you by pretending to be a Christian business and tell you Jesus loves you in their ads but believe me those guys don't know how to tell the truth. It will be worse for them in the end by doing fraudulant business in the name of Jesus.

Good Question!

I recently bought a CHMSL lamp from him supposedly in good condition. The first problem is that he shipped inside door handle bezels instead by mistake. I returned those and he did reimburse me for the shipping but wouldn't send the lamp until he received the parts shipped in error. When I finally received the lamp nearly a month after purchase it was cracked. He offered to send a replacement but I told him I wanted a refund since I didn't want to wait another month for the damned part. He indicated he would refund my money and Paypal said he did but I have not checked my checking account to verify that it actually happened. What is interesting is that he said he didn't want the part returned, that tells me he knew is was junk when he shipped it.

Pssssst........PM me and I'll hook ya up

I have a source for C4 parts and he will ship anywhere in the US only. He is HONEST and has great prices. I have bought a ton of parts from him.

:cool

Personally, it bothers me when folks use Jesus references as some sort of divine "seal of approval" to peddle products.

However, Greg, I can't asy I've ever bought stuff from Mr. Barela.

Mike Boyles in Archdale does a lot with Vettes. He's north of you off of I-85.

Reputable Used Parts

I just wanted to echo Greg Gore's reply. I have bought several things from Vette2Vette. Excellent quality, excellent service, very fair pricing. They reply to e-mails promptly and if you call, you talk with the owner. He is a very small business, but he is focused on customer satisfaction and customer service. If I need something now, I call him. I don't bother to shop around and compare prices - I've not seen anyone beat his prices in the past. He doesn't mind sharing technical knowledge or answering questions about your specific problem.

I totally agree!

In fairness to Mr. Barela after further checking he has indeed refunded my money. (see earlier post)

I hope all you guys are posting negative feedback for these guys that deserve it. Too many times people don't post because they're afraid of getting negative feedback themselves, but since you can reply to feedback, that shouldn't deter you.

Proper feedback is the only way eBay will stay relatively safe from fraud, and others who don't frequent this forum will be warned to shady practices.

I just checked ebay and vette333 hasn't had any transactions for 2 years. Vette2Vette is no longer a registered user on ebay. :hb Any contact numbers for either of these folks? Thx!

vette2vette

I have used vette2vette a couple of times - great guy to deal with. His e-mail is parts@vette2vette.com. His name is Jason and you can call him @ 815-673-6200. He responds to e-mails and voice mails promptly. When I have ordered in the past, it is shipped same day or next day at the latest. His prices have been very good. If you have a tech. question about the part, he is glad to talk with you and answer all your questions.

I posted a reply just a few minutes ago regarding vette2vette. Just noticed your location - you're not too far from me (Colonial Heights). Good to see some fellow forum members from this general location.

Hey Ronnie! Yup, just a couple miles up the slab from you. :Twist Are you a member of any of the clubs in the area? Wes

I see the error of my ways..I didn't include the " ! " Must have missed that in the previous posting...:crazy
