1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
I was going to send out my drive shafts and halfs shafts to quanta for there restoration service but they had a 6 week turn around time with shipping and all.
So I started to look for some used shafts to purchase to send out to them so I was never with out a driveable car but any ones I looked at were pitted with rust and mine are not.I just went into ZIPS catalog and they have new shafts for my car for 129.00 including u joints and the half shafts are 139.00 each and also enclude the ujoints and the flanges.I wanted to have mine restored to bring them back to as new condtion.(I just love the new hardware look under a car) so any ways has anybody every purchased these shafts ?

Are the ones on my car date coded or do the have part numbers. To me it seems like a deal to purchase them new ones because I would need to purchase all new ujoints any waysl and the new ones come with the ujoints

Nope, no dates or part numbers on the half-shafts or prop shaft; I haven't seen any of the replacement half-shafts, but they may be GM parts, which will be 3" diameter. C2's used 2-1/2" diameter half-shafts, but GM changed the service replacement parts to 3" diameter in the 70's (same as later C3's) so one part would (functionally) service all '63-up applications. For "correct" parts that will get proper judging credit, they need to be the original 2-1/2" diameter half-shafts.

Larry, put those "3 shafts on that BB. When you get to the Holiday Inn Carlisle you and Midyear can "light 'em up" and not worry about twistin' your shafts. :Steer

You know dennis when I first got the car I was afraid of the fragility of the rear suspention being weak and not able to hold up to the motor, All I can say that is one tought set up as it was.
To be honest with you the last thing I will be doing 300 miles or so from home is lighting up,with in a hour tow I would be fear less ,That far away I will babying the car all the way there and untill I get with in home range.

Just wondering dennis do you want to share with us your groups trip from last year and what happened LIGHTING UP THE TIRES

Larry, are you talking about how Mike blew off his water pump, granaded the shroud and rad in the burn-out for the parade and how we still made the parade, minus his car, how we came back and pushed it into the grounds. Then the next morning we got our cars ready for the awards, then went parts search for a shroud, water pump, fan, clutch radiator and had all it it repaired and running by 5pm to leave for GA at 6. I always leave about the same time, but go back toward Frederick MD. to Wash. DC. It was a true experience. :crazy

Larry, I'm not sure, but I think something was done that might show up in this year's Carlisle program book.
