I changed my oil today and used the same Purolator "PUREONE OIL FILTER"...Its almost a full inch shorter...its only 3 1/4 inches tall now. Grrrrrrrrrrr :mad The only thing that got larger was thr price. :r

It's gotta have less filtration!

I don't like higher prices, but at least give the same size and quality product.

The best filter I've found Is a MOBIL-1 Filter, It's expensive but it's made of senthetic fibers instead of Cardboard, In my opinion it's well worth the extra dollars spent to keep my Corvette from having any oil circulation and cleaning problems. I also highly recommend Mobil-1 oil to...
............Just my opinion....

JonM,
With the after market oil cooler I use......I get to use the Ford Filter.....
I always use the Fram....X2 ultra high capacity XG8A....filters...
and my oil temps stay alot cooler.....

Do not always look at that page. The tests has a lot of limitation.

The bottom line in all this is.........Use what you want to, Fram and AC etc.....they have all been around for a long time, But I'll tell you this, the Corvette has a Hi-performance engine and I'm not putting a cardboard filter on that engine, I'll pay more and use a Mobil-1 filter, I figure like everyone else, "Hey I own a corvette, I must have lots of money", ....Right????? LOL :)
Just use the filter that you think will sork for your application....they all say they meet or exceed the Manuf. warranty... so does it really matter..............
...........Just an opioion.............

Happy Fourth to all Americans...... GOD BLESS THE USA! :pat

I use to run Fram filters till I read about all the bad stuff about them. Switched to AC Delco. The last time I went to buy a filter I found out that it had been discontinued and a different one recommended. Can't remember the numbers right now. Anyway the new one is almost 1" shorter than the original application. I guess I'll go with Mobil 1 or something similar in the future. Just don't trust the shorter one.
