Why were the factory Corvettes not racing At the 24 hours of Daytona? I know they have in the past. Has GM designated it as a place where Pontiac can shine?

I was wondering the same thing. It seems a shame that the 'new' Corvette with all the goodies, that the Cadillac man designed(phphphtptp), would be a pet for GM.

to race at lemans they have to race in the LMS races in the usa. daytona 24 is a NASCAR owned race and after GM pulled pontiac out of nextel cup they went the daytona proto types race cars which is where all the cars in the class are the same, spec racers, with different engines
