Question about Radio Knobs

I have the in-dash 6-disc player (US9) and was wondering if anyone knows if the chrome trim knobs from the 2008 US9 radio will fit a 2006 US9 radio. According to the parts desk at the local dealer the catalog states 2008 only but of course does not say why. Same thing with the 2009 knobs.

I guess it wouldn't surprise me if the knob mounting mechanism changed somehow between all of those years even though the radios are the same.

Logically, I can't think why it wouldn't work. The stereo hasn't changed since 2005.

You know, might try going to the Bose website and asking that question. They have a "contact us" section.
