couple of questions -

What is the purpose of the vapor canister?

Do these ever need to be replaced?

If so, how would you know when?

Is there any routine maint required?

Was always curious why it was there - thanks

:w

Collect gas fumes from the fuel system when off for later consumption via a line to the carb. There is a filter that is supposed to be changed. I have the filter but can't figure out how to get to it.

You replace it when it starts sucking vacuum (?) at idle. To remove it, the panel below it comes out, though not willingly--yep, it's a Corvette.
