Question: Stamp on tires........

I have a white number stamped on the sidewall of my tires (i.e. 5391). Is that from Goodyear or Bowling Green? I was wondering if that was the production number of my car for that year or just a plain number that Goodyear stamps on their tires. Just wondering........

I was told that is the built number on the car. Put on the tires at the plant so they get the tires matched up with the car.

Thanks for the info. That's kinda cool.......well, it sucks when it's time to change tires, though. I guess I'll let the next owner worry about that when he/she changes the tires.
