Welcome to the Corvette Action Center.

I'm going to move your thread into the C1/C2 forum for greater exposure...

Welcome to the CAC

Can you post the engine numbers? There should be two stamped on the pad at the front of the passenger side head. One should be all or a part of your vin. The other is the engine build number with letter codes. It would be easier to tell you what you have than to list them all here.

VIN digits are as follows: (Sample number: 194676S100001)

"1" indicates Chevrolet Motor Division
"9" indicates Corvette
"4" indicates V8
"67" or "37" indicates convertible or coupe
The sixth digit (6) is the last digit of the model year
"S" stands for St Louis Assembly
followed by a six digit buile sequence number.

Your car is a late 1966 production with a build date of July 2,1966. 3782870 casting number blocks were used 1962 to 1965 but not in 1966. F0219HT is a Flint built engine assembled on Feb 19 and the HT makes it a 327/350 horse L79 engine. Since HT engines built on an 870 block were only possible in 1965 that's what your engine is. It appears to have been origionally installed in 1965 Corvette 111634 built on March 6 1965, which would be a reasonable pairing for that engine and car.

So it's not your original engine but it is an original Corvette engine.
