Does anybody know if there is a difference between Quick Silver and the new for ’04 Machine Silver?

Is it just a name change, or is one color brighter than the other? Is there more of a metallic flake in the paint, etc?

Any help would be appreciated,

Quick Silver is a lighter/brighter color with more "Sparkle".

Machined Silver seems to have a touch of "tan" added to silver color!

trumperZ06,

Thank you!!!!!!

I have been trying to find this out for sometime. I was hoping to see the two side-by-side, but hadn’t had any luck.

A Lighter Shade of Silver

B17,

Are you planning on buying a C5? Or repaint the current car? Call me partial, but I liked Quicksilver as soon as I saw it. There was another color Pewter that was a little darker but still a very rich color.

TrumperZ06,

I can't say I've seen your Machined Silver but it sounds like another one I would like. Does it have some metallic in it?

:D Remo, Machine Silver is the new color on the 2004 models and yes it is a metal flake.

;) If both a Quick Silver and a Machine Silver vette are side by side, the color difference is easy to see with the Quick Silver being:

a. Lighter in color
2. More "sparkle"
3. Machine Silver will be darker with a hint of "tan".

:) I hope this helps Y'all in visioning the color. Best to go to your local Chevy dealer and see a 2004 model!

:D I traded a 2001 Quick Silver Z06 for a 2004 Machined Silver Z06... Oct. 31st.

Both cars were parked side by side and in direct bright sunlight the color difference was not as was not appearant as in shade! But the 2004 is 2 or 3 shades darker, but not PEWTER !

Hi Remo,

I’ve always liked to keep track of the subtle color changes that occur on the Corvette.

I saw my first Machine Silver 04 the other day, I was unable to spot an immediate difference between it and the Quick Silver (QS). The QS is very nice, there’s a guy in my neighborhood who has a QS vert. He takes such good care of it that if he ever decides to sell, I just may have to seriously consider it.

As for my LT4, I’m going to keep it bone stock. I want to keep this car for a very, very long time, I’ve enjoyed every minute with this car.
