Rack and Pinion just installed

Hi everyone, I just installed a new rack {positive it is the correct one} and changed hoses . I refilled power steering fluid after I turned the wheel a couple of times. When the car first starts up at a dead stop the wheel turns fine. After a minute when I'm just sitting if you try to turn the wheel to the left, it won't budge. It will go right ok but not left. Do you think the power steering pump may need to be replaced because its weak and can't push fluid throught the newer tighter seals, or do you think the new rack and pinion is bad. It was leaking from the r&p

Just a thought........did the hoses get hooked back up to the correct fittings, i.e. high pressure to high pressure, return to return, etc. ?
