I have an 04, and it came with a non retractable antenna. I have seen other years where they retract. My question is: Does the electrical connection exist at the antenna location to connect an automatic antenna?? If I have to install a special switch, then I won't bother. And, is there a recommendatin on the manufacture or should I just go to Chevy.

C4C5Specialist will definately know more about this one than myself. I do know that the motor to drive the antenna up and down is not present on the Z06 (weight saving measure.) Whether that means you have to add a switch somewhere, I do not know for sure, but it would seem likely. At a minimum, you'll need to get an antenna motor assembly, and I don't think those are cheap.

Wish I had better news for you.

I don't mind buying a new motor operated antenna, I just need to know if the existing connector in the fender will plug into it.

The antenna from the vert is a shoe in. You will want to install a switch to lower the unit when listening to CD's. Had the switch mounted next to the gas door switch in the center console for a clean out of sight look.:beer

Just a simple pin toggle switch Doug. Sorry no pics. Picked her up Dec.20 from being modded, and half an hour later she was stored in the 'Z' cave for the winter!:beer

No problem Frank, I just wanted to see where the switch was mounted. I just hate to drill holes in my baby. I am also thinking of placing the switch where the fog light button would go.;shrug
I can hardly wait till spring to take the Z out, it seems like such a long time since I last drove her. The weather here has been spring like and I'm lovin' it but all the gravel is still on the streets. I can wait, not worth rock chips on my baby. ;)

Doug are you not going to install PIAA's? If so, you'll need that space for the 'vertcombo switch'. Plus in the console is stealthy! :D I'll try to take a pic on weekend.
