I have recently installed an aftermarket cd receiver in my 84 vette. The problem I have is finding a live wire to run the radio to that goes on and off with the key. I currently have it wired to the heater/ac which is no good because the heater has to be on for the radio to work. I was just wondering if anyone knows off hand which wire would be best to use as a live. I've been blowing fuses whenever i turn on the interior lights because i think they are all on one fuse (radio, heater, and interior lights). Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I bought my 84 it had no radio, just an opening with a slew of cut wires.
I don't recall the color code, but if you ground one lead of your volt meter and locate the constant 12 volt power line (yellow?) connect it to your radio 12 volt power line. Then turn the key on and locate the 12 volt accessory line and connect it to your radio accessory line. You need both lines or what will happen is when you turn the car off the radio will not retain the station settings and the clock will not retain the time.
Good luck
