Hi,

I would like to get it first hand from someone who has a C5 light colored Rag top who has not damaged the fabric useing a so called mild cleaner.

I don't have any major grime. Just road dirt here and there.

I was at a delaer last friday and they told me a horror story about a C5 that was a twin to mine that they had to replace the top on it because their detailing shop damaged it cleaning it.

Can Anyone recommend a mild cleaner which they have used that did not stain or leave water marks after use.

The top is Oak color.

thanks,
bob

Look at my post in the Cleaning & Detailing forum......I did a review of the Raggtop brand of top cleaner..........

I know I don't have a light color top on my vette. My top is black. But when I clean my top I use the same stuff I wash the care with. I use Meguiar's gold class car wash. I use a soft brush with it. It does a good job and I haven't had any problems with it.

i HAVE A LIGHT TAN TOP ON MY 2001 mAGNETIC RED CONVERTIBLE. The last time i washed it, I sprayed the top with the raggtop cleaner and then scrubbed it with a mixture of my wife's dish soap (palmolive) a very little in a galooin of luke warm water and I used a sponge to rub the surface. I washed off the top with cold water from the hose and then wiped it down with a terry cloth. After it was dry, i gave it a coating of the Raggtop convertible protector, and the top looks great. I only clean it once every 6 months, since it is not a daily driver. One word to the wise: When you first spray the protector omn the top, it will look terrible. It will look like you ruined the top. After it dires, it looks brand new. You don't havr to use the protector spray, I just do it to increase the waterproofing of the top. Hope this helps.
