Hi all:
Finally get to clean the new toy :D and was wondering if anybody has had any problems using RainX on the headlight housing. Also, I've read a lot about not using anything with petroleum derivatives on the paint but, is it safe to use RainX on the glass as long as you are careful not to "over spray"?

Thanks for the help :beer and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! :v

I don't own a C6, but I would doubt your headlight housings are made of glass. They are likely polycarbonate. I'm not sure why you'd want RainX on them anyway, but if you use something on them, I'd use a product specifically for plastics, like Plexus or something. Also, products like that will have UV protectants in them to help prevent yellowing, etc. :w

Oh, and I've never seen RainX in a spray bottle, so I don't think you'll have to worry about overspray. But you could always wash the affected areas to remove the RainX.

As an aside, one way to use RainX but not have streaking/hazing issues is to clean your glass, apply the RainX, but don't buff it. Then wash your car and glass (i.e. apply it when you plan on washing the car). The glass will be left nice and clear and beady from the RainX, and you won't have any haze issues. If haze is a problem for you when you use RainX, this might help, but of course you can apply it numerous ways that work great. :)
