Rattle solved....sort of

I promised to end the story. Most solutions are not announced. This little rattle is just the Corsa resonator coming apart at the neck weld!

I knew the car seemed louder. My man found a factory weld cracked nearly all the way around up front of the right resonator. He spot welded it and it's back to normal.

Called Bob at Corsa and he immediately shipped a new resonator today. They want the busted one for forensic evaluation. He apologized for the problem and inconvenience. I'll swap it out upon arrival and go on down the road relatively quiet and rattle free. Don't want a rigged set-up at that price.

Thank you for indulging me. I can't stand this thing not being 100% ready to fly. Dragon, Cruisefest, Len's party, etc. I am making the scene in '06.

Cheers

Glad to hear it Tim. I hope to see you at all of those events. That would mean I need to participate as well. I'll try my best.

You would hope a brand new stainless steel big name cat back wouldn't break so soon on ya. Warranty for life is a good thing.

We have a great crew around here and really need to try to put it together. Cruising with a group of vettes be it 2 or 20 can't be beat, and whenever we get there it seems to be a smashing good time! I hope to see you soon as well as the 'others'..you guys and gals know who you are. I'll ante up with a Lake Lanier cabin party in a few months.

Can you tell I'm stoked about fixing my car?????????

If we can just keep you out of Vegas..........;LOL

Tlong , you said it was cracked along a weld ? Somebody in their production is gonna get an ass kicken.:Buttslap The most common cause of a break along a weld on stainless steel is due to using to much heat. Good to know they take care of their customers.

I recall you stating in past threads that your exhaust seemed to be getting louder...hmmmm.

Congrats on finding the problem & the good customer service from Corsa. :D

It must have started splitting early on. They told me that increased volume was impossible at Corsa...assuming it's intact! Drove it today and man it's once again a nice low growl and high revs sound like music to me-no stereo needed. One step forward, two steps back sometimes JFNLSA.

I still like Corsa because it is just a true dual straight pipe from the cat and the sound is unaltered by baffles, bends, packing etc. even if it did fall apart.

This hobby has no end, just try enjoy the process I guess. Rewards come when least expected.
