My car has rattles all over it. I have retorqued and tightened every bolt I can find. I pulled the whole interior out and tried it again. I've had a wrench on every hex head under the car and it still rattles. Has anyone else had this problem and how did they fix it?

Bill

That antique frame has lots of flexxing going on so you may be hard pressed to nail down all of the rattles. Just for kicks you may want to confirm that the body mounts are nice and tight. It's not unheard of for them to be in need of a little torque.

Could you describe your rattles a little more indepth? Because I've always figured that Corvettes were always a little "sqeaky", mainly because the fiberglass body is a little more flexible than most cars. So it might just be natural. When I go into a turn hard, I can hear some stuff, too.

While I am driving I get squeeky loose bolt noises on every bump in the road. There is a loose metal jingling noise. I think I have tightened every bolt on the car within an inch of its life and I still have the squeeks. So far I have proper torque, german torque and monster torque. It's like the car is possessed.

German Torque = Guten tight

Have you checked your rear spring bolts/cushions? I know that I get noise from mine. I Plan to replace mine this month.

Bill: Sorry to hear that you Vette sounds like it's gonna fall apart. One thing that you might look at (if you haven't done so already) is the shocks (especially the rears). If the rubber bushings are dry rotted & deteriorated, they could be squeaking & knocking against the metal shock mount pin. It'll make a bad sounding "knocking" noise & will sound like the bottoms ready to "cave" in. Also, check the stablizer bar bushings as well. Good luck!
